OOC EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT #10.5: FOURTH WALL

Hello, volunteers and prospective volunteers! This is the official OOC announcment for our fourth wall event happening later this month. As a reminder, the fourth wall will take the place of the test drive meme on March 24th and will last until the next intro log on April 10th.

This post is unlocked to allow people who might be interested to ask questions, in-game players to promote the event to their friends, and all that fun stuff!

THE RUNDOWN

Due to some unfortunate circumstances, Zhautas has been plagued by portals flinging people across the multiverse. While Zenith eventually manages to extract volunteers currently on Zhautas from their unintentional trips and stop the portals from springing up throughout the main facility, it's hardly the end of them. There's a nice week or so before the portals re-appear on March 24th.

Well. One portal does.



It can be seen from almost anywhere on the small island that nestles the main research facility. Actually, it's rather odd... No matter where you are, the giant triangular portal ( approximately 1.75 miles tall and 1 mile wide ) that suddenly splits reality off in the jungle faces you. No matter where you walk or other angles you try to see it from, it faces you. That's only slightly creepy.

While in-game characters can't walk through it due to the implant, that isn't about to stop people from coming in. Despite it only being one portal, people from all over the multiverse begin to emerge. Maybe they aren't expecting it, maybe they were called by something like in-game characters had been with the portals before it only to end up on this unfamiliar island... Whatever the case may be, they're here now!

Maybe another you comes through or someone who knows you but you don't know them. Awkward. But, hey, look on the bright side! If a double of yourself shows up, maybe it's a chance to live out those selfcest fantasies... No? That's just the professor? Well, alright, suit yourself!



In order to accommodate all these fresh faces, the west wing, which is primarily for research purposes, will be converted into temporary lodging. Oh, and, it will also serve the function of a sexatorium for the duration of the event. It's totally a word. Look it up.

The Zenith Corporation is going to use this mishap to its advantage and make all their unexpected guests feel extremely welcome. While they'll be pulling out all the stops and trying to impress, newcomers might still be able to sense a bit of unrest within the veteran volunteer population. There are some secret schemes brewing beneath the surface.

But don't mind all that, really! Zenith certainly seems to want to make your experience one to remember and will do almost everything to make sure you're not only comfortable but having fun during your brief stay. After all, they're here to help.

CLARIFICATIONS & RULES

While we want everyone to have as much fun as possible with this event, we do need to clarify some points for both in-game players and people looking to participate!

• Characters in Zhautas are not allowed to leave but people from all over can come in.


• Duplicates, characters not usually appable and, yes, even more Hawkes are completely welcome!


• Due to the nature of the game, there will, however, be some minor limitations on what characters are allowable for the fourth wall event.
• Characters must be sixteen (16) and older. If a character is below sixteen, they may be aged up for the sake of the test drive but be aware that they might not be appable if they are not sixteen at the point in canon you are playing them from.


• IT IS REQUIRED THAT ALL NSFW CONTENT INVOLVING CHARACTERS UNDER 18 BE TAGGED AS SUCH. This will be strictly enforced.


• Since this post will be open to non-members, we also ask that you please remember to tag your NSFW content (including violence) accordingly.


• Characters cannot be pregnant when arriving to Zhautas.


• We will be allowing pets to visit during the fourth wall event. However, the no pets rule for applications is still in effect. Any creatures not native to Zhautas will not be allowed to stay beyond the fourth wall. If we discover that anyone is playing it as they snuck their pet in or they remained after that, the player will receive a strike.


• If a character's canon is less than one (1) month old at the time of the fourth wall, we will still allow these characters to participate in the event! However, we do ask that in case there are obvious spoiler warnings, please label them as such in order to be respectful to fellow players who might have yet to see the canon and have interest in doing so.


• Please keep in mind the size limit of items that the game has. Items brought in, even by fourth wall visitors, may be no bigger 100cm x 40 cm or 40in x 15in. Any items larger than this will be confiscated but returned to characters leaving after the fourth wall. For those that decide to stay, the will be allowed to request a different personal item (on their application) that Zenith will have sent for and get to them ASAP.


• We ask that people keep in mind if a character is not appable to Zhautas, they will not be able to remain once the event is over.


• Other characters that are, however, might decide they want to help the cause too and are more than welcome to app during the April application cycle. Their fourth wall interactions would then be considered game canon and Zenith would outfit them with an implant and they would become a more permanent resident -- if they so choose.

hey! i know pets can't stick around, but can non-native species who aren't domesticated become integrated into the ecosystem? porgs are not pets (they're in fact pests, a little like mice), and no one in the star wars universe has a singular pet porg, so i'm mostly wondering if porgs can just become a species that exists on zhautas after this event as a lingering overall pest problem.

Zelos Wilder's hobbies can be summed up as wooing women and pissing off everyone that he possibly can. He lives for having fun, and life's short, so you might as well enjoy it while it lasts, right?

With all this in mind, it might be tempting to think that Zelos Wilder doesn't have issues. This is incorrect. He only has issues. Despite his playboy exterior, he's secretly a nihilist, who would probably be okay with everything ending because nothing really matters anyway. Also, trust issues. Zelos Wilder is the poster child for trust issues. He doesn't trust other people, and you shouldn't trust him.

His positive traits include his hair, and his wings. He has wings that he can summon at will. They are orange and sparkly.

She was made viscount. A known mage, who used forbidden blood magic in front of everybody. Was made viscount—in recognition of her strength and her dedication to defending the Maker’s lands and faith from heathens.

Anyway TL;DR she’s viscount, the blowing-shit-up at the end of DA2 went differently (Anders did his terrorism in Orlais instead), and she still has creepy lip scars from having her mouth sewn shut. She’s here to party. 🔥⚡️💥✨

ABOUT THEM: Norse god of mischief but not evil, Loki is A Loki, but not The Old Loki- or he's trying not to be anyway. AoA Loki is pretty much chaotic neutral, morally dubious, a liar, a pragmatist, and Loki. He's just kind of... also got a bit of a moral compass that he's still learning to live with, a generally jocular outer shell (that sometimes tips into heavily facetious), some unresolved guilt, and a soft spot for a very few people. Terrible flirt, but generally really doesn't expect people to take him up on it. Here to bug Billy and be an awful reminder of home to some degree.

His CRAU was basically a horror game, so he might be a little more brittle and defensive than usual- he spent about a year being constantly reminded of all his many sins and... encouraged to repent them. By way of monthly torture. He also has a couple of scars from the game, just in case anyone needs something that makes him visually distinct; under his left eye is a pretty obvious one looks like a ᛚ

ABOUT THEM: Dr. Jordan is a former army medic who served in Syria; since then, he's come to the ISS, where he's served the longest consecutive service in space (473 at the beginning of canon; about 480 by the time he pops into Zhautas). While on the ISS, they've collected a Martian lifeform that very quickly turns out to be not at all what they're expecting.

Dr. Jordan will be arriving from toward the end of his canon, and will NOT be arriving with Calvin, the hyper-aggressive Martian alien on the ISS. He will have some difficulties with gravity, and be a little traumatized all around. Even before everything with the alien, he had some PTSD and dissociative elements going on.

He was raised as number 4 of 7 "special" kids by a sociopath who only wanted to study them and train them to be superheroes at the Umbrella Academy and didn't care that they were little people. It was messed up, Klaus is messed up, and all his siblings are messed up.



He's what I describe as a 'sweet asshole' who recently lost the love of his life during a time travel mishap where he spent 10 months in the Vietnam war, which is why he's older than his siblings, and is very recently clean and sober (2 days and counting!) because sober is the only way he can see Dave (the aforementioned love) again. Not used to being taken seriously or even remembered. Having screwed up so much in his own life, he is basically willing to forgive anyone anything, and is very caring, sarcastic, high-energy, and a kind of unambitious quitter. Powerful chaotic energy. Capable of great things but rarely lives up to that potential. Full of compassion, and takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'.

He’s basically one of those Villains With A Tragic Backstory type characters. Project Freelancer used him, the Desert Gulch Blues, the Desert Gulch Reds, and the other sim troopers for testing their equipment and training their Freelancers, which was unjust and caused the death of his friend. So he seeks to take Project Freelancer down and avenge his friend’s death at their hands.

And I feel like this description doesn’t capture enough about him (and I interpret him a bit differently than the Personality section on his wiki does) and so I’m tempted to post the Personality section of the app for him I’ve started writing for another game here but this blurb is supposed to be short so I won’t. But if you have a question about Temple, feel free to ask me it.

(And while I’m here, I’m going to ask: how much horror is in Zhautas, what kind of horror is it, and how optional is it?)

ABOUT THEM: Bala is an Au Ra, just like Era Ra! he is also a guy, which means that unlike Era, he is very....very tall, about 7ft (214cm) tall in fact! he also has black scales and horns, and in addition to his tail and his height, this is likely to be the first thing anyone notices about him. his appearance might be frightening to some, but he is possessed of a very gentle nature and will probably try to befriend anyone who isn't downright mean to him!

perhaps most important is the fact that Bala is a member of the Qestir tribe, which according to The Lore, "refuses to speak, believing that all words are lies, and that a man's actions are the purest form of communication." having only left his tribe as a young adult, Bala does not and will not speak vocally to communicate, instead preferring hand signs, body gestures, and the occasional stoic nod. while in Zhautas he may make use of R.O.S.I.E.'s text-to-speech function, but the question of whether those words also count as lies will trouble him, so he won't like it...!

lastly, Bala is a white mage by trade, so if anybody needs healing for whatever reason, he's your guy!! and also if anybody needs a giant rock hurled at something, he's still your guy, but he might have some questions about it. he's very attuned with nature and takes a special interest in plants and caring for them, so somebody might need to stop him from wandering off into the jungle by himself.
